PERSONAL.
The death has occurred of Mr A. S. Burrows, aged 52, deputy-superintend-ent of the Petone Fire Brigade. Mr Burrows was found yesterday on the beach at Lyall Bay, he having apparently fallen off the seawall. A tribute to the popularity of Commandant J. C. Findlater, of Hawera, with all ranks of the Legion of Frontiersmen was the reception tendered him at the annual reunion on Saturday evening. At the conference, he was re-elected commandant of the New Zealand Command, an office he will hold for another three years.
