Mr J. C. Mills, manager of the Bank of New Zealand at Wyndham, has received notice of his transfer to Waipukurau. The Timaru. presbytery,* yesterday, sustained a call by Chalmers Church to Ilev. Malcolm W. Wilson, M.A., pf York, England. It was announced that Mr AVilson, who was born in New Zealand, was prepared to accept the call and would leave England on September 10. In the meantime, Rev. Dr Thomas, Chicago, who is travelling abroad on vacation, will supply the charge. , v A staunch supporter of the Salvation army for 50 years, Mr J. D. Iremonger, of Hamilton, celebrated his 94th birthday yesterday. Born in London, Mr Iremonger came to New Zealand with his parents at the ago of 30 and worked as a panter at Wellington and Blenhenn -He formed the first Salvation Army .corps in the latter town. About 25 years-ago'lie went to Hamilton. ’> . " ■
