YEAR OF ACHIEVEMENT. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, June 23. Describing the period as a year of achievement of which breeders and members 'could well. be proud, Mr J. A. Russell (Palmerston North) retiring president, presented his report to-day to the annual meeting of the New Zealand Pig Breeders’ Association. The national recording scheme initiated and controlled bv the Department of Agriculture had been closely watched, said Mr Russell, and it was greatly due to the progressive spirit of the council that control of the scheme was being moulded in a way that made it worth while and attractive to all breeders.
Mr J. Raynes (Patumahoe) was declared elected for the Auckland ward and the other councillors elected were: Messrs D. G. Morrison (North Auckland). D. S. Ross (Bay of Plenty), and W. L. West (Hawke’s Bay). At a subsequent meeting of the new council Mr D. S. Ross (Bay of Plenty) was elected president; Messrs A. R. Guddop (North Taranaki) and W. P.
