HOUSEHOLD HINTS.
It is sometimes difficult to fit new linoleum into awkward corners, or round cupboards and other fixtures. It is a good plan to cut out' .a paper pattern first, and let it servo as a guide. When washing white spun silk, fuji, or crepe de chine, add a tablespoonful of methylated spirits to the last rinsing water. This gives the fabric a slight stiffness,, and prevents it from turning yellow. To remove ink-stains from washing materials, soak the affected part in equal, quantities of vinegar and lemon juice, leave for a few hours, rubbing the fabric together occasionally, then wash with warm soap-suds. As the material is not weakened by this treatment, it can be repeated if necessary.
