O’Hagan, of Apiti, is visiting his mother on Reeds Line. . . , . ;At a. meeting of those interested in rebuilding the public hall the committee reported on the result of the canvass for funds. It was receiving a favourable response. the amount to date : being over £SOO. Prices wore submitted for rebuilding the hall. A ladies’ committee was sot- up with Mrs O. Jackson as chairwoman and Mrs A. H. Faulkner as secretary. Scores recorded at the shoot of the Miniature Rifle Club were: E. Bailey, 69 —68 —137; A. Rounbrook, 61 —65 126; K. Faulkner, 59-60-119; 11. Hughey 40-50 —9O- A. Pederson, 65—63 —128; R. Osborne, 64—66—130; A. McMurray, 50—68 118, F. Cox. 60—66—126. A successful euchre and dance in aid of the hall funds took place at Mr G. Shannon’s homestead when there was a large attendance and a good amount was received towards tlie funds. Mr and Mrs R. Clark, of V elhngton, are visiting Bunnythorpe, being the guests of Mr and Mrs. E. Clark. v The annuab'niceting of the Bunnythorpe branch of the .National Party took place on Wednesday Mr A. F. McKenzie presided and' apoolgised' for the absence of the secretary (Mr W.; Black) who. had been called. -to Christchurch. .1 he chairman in his report referred to the activity of the executive. The membership had risen to 100 and with a further canvass .it was expected to double before the election. The " chairman also welcomed Hon J. G. Cobbo and Mrs Williamson (president of the Women’s Division of the Manawatu district). Officers elected were. Chairman, Mr A. F. McKenzie; sccretaiy,, Mr W. Black; committee, Mrs McKenzie, Messrs E. In referring to the formation of a branch in Bunnythorpe Mrs Williamson said she would bo pleased to attend a meeting to form one Hon. J. Mr Maxwell moved That the meeting congratulate Mr Cobbe on Its keen interest by attending meetings in al narts of the district, which showed that he had the welfare of the Manawatu electorate as liis first consideration.
