LOWER TREND.
WELLINGTON SHARE QUOTATIONS. There was a distinctly weaker trend yesterday in the Wellington share market, arid business was done in a number of issues on a lower ' basis. Government loans were quiet and unchanged. Bank shares were almost entirely neglected, and ■ the general trend was downward. New Zealands weVe unsupported at 44s 4d, aud National of Australasia, £lO paid, were marked down to £l3 10s ex dividend. Commercial of Australia were offering at 16s, and Unions at £8 10s. Goldsbrough Mort weakened to 29s -6d. Buying quotations for most New Zealand industrial and trading issues were almost entirely lacking. New Zealand Breweries had business at 435, a decline of 2s since the early part of the month. Leading Australian shares were) traded at lower rates, and latest quotations indicated general weakness, particularly in -Electrolytic Zinc, Mount Lyell, and Barrier. Sales recorded on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday were as follow;
