DAMAGES AWARDED.
SEQUEL TO FATALITY. Per Press Association. HASTINGS, Mav 26. Damages for plaintiff for the sum of £IOOO were fixed by a jury in the Supreme Court at Napier in an accident claim for £2520 brought by a. widow for the death of her husband in a motor accident. The claim was for £2O funeral expenses and £2500 general damages, and was brought by Margaret Jessie Boyce for the death of her husband, Leslie Clive Boyce, in a motor accident at Whakatu on July 16 of last.year. Defendants were Russell William Spencer and George M. Spencer, of Hastings. Counsel for plaintiff at yesterday’s hearing said that Boyce was riding a motor cycle along the Hastings-Whaka-tu road at a slow pace a little on the correct side of the middle of the road. A motor lorry, carrying a load of shingle, was being driven bv Russell Spencer, aged 17, along the CliveWhakatu road and the two vehicles collided at an intersection. Negligence was alleged on the part of defendant.
