NOTES.
The speaker at the W.E.A. meeting on Tuesday evening was Mr Hely (tutor-organiser for the Manawatu district) who gave a talk on “Modern American Drama.” There was a good attendance and at the conclusion of his remarks Mr Hely was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Mr A. J. Humphreys presided. The Feilding Women’s , Bowling Club was officially closed for the season, when the president (Mrs A. Williamson) expressed the thanks of the ladies to Mr Duncan for the interest he had taken in the club, and on behalf of the women bowlers made him a small presentation. In turn the president was honoured when % Mrs White, on behalf of the ladies, presented her with a pair of novelty book ends in appreciation of her services during the seaspn. Mrs M. Jones (the secretary of the club) was also the recipient of a small gift. ' ,
