INTER-DOMINION COUNCIL.
IMPORTANT DECISIONS. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 21. The delegates to the Inter-Dominion Trotting Council have decided to allot the next championships to the Northern Tasmanian Trotting Association, provided that State is prepared to offer at least £7OOO in stakes for a four-day meeting. In the event of the Northern Tasmanian Association not being able to comply with the conditions the West Australian Association wjll be asked to conduct the meetings. For all future championships, it was agreed that the total stakes for the four days must be at least £BOOO, but with a view to assisting trotting in Tasmania the amount was reduced to £7OOO for the 1939 meeting, if held by that State. A recommendation that States should consider the inclusion in their championship programmes of a tliree-year-old classic race with a sufficient stake to encourage representative entries was carried. . The question of the allotting ot points for championship events was discussed, and it was decided to recommend that in future points should be awarded for all events, including the grand final. The system of allotting points was held over until the end of the present championship meeting.
