WORK AT ELLERSLIE, THE FINAL GALLOPS. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 21. Rain fell overnight, and it was shoiverv this morning for the final gallops at Ellerslie in connection with the Avondale autumn meeting. The course proper, with the poles 50ft out, was used and the going was li^aiy. Land Girl, Trevace and Palmint finished in that order at the end of six furlongs in 1.22 1-5. . Roilicker pleased while running live furlongs in 1.6 after covering the first two furlongs in 25 3-ssec. Me oicl iiis work well. ~ , . . Light Comedy beat Malagigi over six furlongs in 1.22 2-5. Knight of Australia and My Monej traversed seven furlongs in 1.34 4-0. ""Bonny Belle joined at the lialt-mile and finished in front. Paint iraversed five furlongs in 1.6 1-5. . . Tajwierre was going easily alongside Cheval de Volee at the conclusion of half a mile in 51 3-osec. Master Brierly beat Prince Rangi over a mile in 1.48 1-5, the last seven furlongs taking 1.35. Llangollen was under restraint while covering seven furlongs in 1.5 J. Golden Sheila and King Musk were on. terms at the end of five furlongs ln Noitaro%ut up a good effort while running half a mile m Slsec. Prince Acre beat Merial over five furlongs in 1.6, the first two in 25 2-ssec Tosh beat Hunting Blood over five furlongs in 1.5 4-5, a good effort. Maxovvn was doing better than bintrace at the finish of half a mile in 51 4-ssec. . . , Francis Drake was sent six furlongs, and completed his task in 1.23, after doing the first three furlongs in 41sec. Aiwai was given an easy six furlongs running the last five in 1.10 4-o. Gav Rose covered seven furlongs in 134 “3-5 the first half-mile taking 52 2-ssec. She went well throughout. Galilee and Lady Meath ran the best half-mile of the morning, recording 50 4-ssec. Johnny Walls also pleased while traversing a similar distance in
