MEN AT SEA.
“ALL WELL” REPORTED
Per Press Association
WELLINGTON, April 20.
Early this afternoon radio messages reporting “all well” were received by the Union Company from the steamers Maunganui and Monowai, bound across the Tasman Sea with some 1300 New Zealand returned soldiers who are to attend Australia’s 150th anniversary Anzac Day celebrations in Sydney. The two ships sailed from Wellington last evening and are due at Sydney at daybreak on Saturday. The message from the Maunganui, received a few minutes after mid-day, said fine weather was being experienced with a smooth sea and the men were thoroughly enjoying themselves. That from the Monowai shortly after 2 p.m. reported that the 655 passengers were settling down and everything was working smoothly. The weather was fine. The Maunganui was in sight ahead.
