VILLAGES WIPED OUT.
OVER 250 PERISH
EARTHQUAKES IN ANATOLIA
Received April 21. 9.45 a.m. ANGORA, April 20. Sixteen villages were wiped out and over 250 have been killed in repeated earthquakes in Central Anatolia. Shocks occurred hourly throughout yesterday.
Anatolia in ancient geography meant the country east of the Aegean Sea, that is Asia Minor. It is now used by the Turks in the form Anadolu as the equvalent of the western part of Asia Minor.
