After surrendering the keys of Ids factory at Slough, in which lie lost his entire capital of £2300, Henry Martin Baker, of Melbourne, “realising all was ended,” had a few drinks in an hotel, then hacked his car into a police car. His ill-fortnne thus culminated in a fine of £5. Baker revealed to the Bench that he came to England to provide his wife with special medical treatment, hut she died. He produced credentials from the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments and .the Mayor of Melbourne, hut the declined to read them.
