FASCIST PLOT SMASHED.
SENSATION IN BRAZIL. RIO DE JANEIRO, March 19. The Government announced that a Fascist plot to assassinate President Vargas and overthrow the Government in an armed uprising lias been smashed with the arrest of more than 1000 persons, including army officers. The plot was frustrated after an armed clash, the police raiding the Fascist headquarters, large quantities of armament being seized. It was stated that documents .were discovered showing that the Fascists were linked with foreign countries.
