A RECIPE.
SPICED RAISIN GEMS. Take 3oz. butter, J cupful milk, 1 egg, i teaspoonful ground cinnamon, i teaspoonful grated nutmeg, -Jib. minced raisins, Boz. brown sugar, 3 teaspoonfuls baking powder, cupfuls flour. Beat the butter and sugar to a cream. Sift the flour with baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir the beaten egg into the milk. Add the egg and milk and flour alternately to the butter and sugar till all ingredients are used up. Beat rapidly tor four minutes. Stir in the raisins. Three-quarter fill the buttered gem tins. Bake in a moderate oven for about twenty minutes.
