“A SUBSTANTIAL BUSINESS.” Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, March 2. “The facts show the accused has been carrying on a substantial bookmaking business,” said Mr Bartholomew, S.M., in fining Samuel Hartley £75 for this offence.
Altogether, the police said, 251 bets were taken on the day of the raid.
