WEDDINGS.

LANGFORD—RITCHIE. St. Andrew’s Church was the scene of a quiet but pretty wedding on January 11 of Ellen Donaldson (Nell), only daughter of Mrs G. R. and the late G. Ritchie, and Ronald Leslie, only son of Mr and Mrs H. L. Langford. Rev. Mr Dixon was the officiating minister, and Mr A. J. Graham presided at the organ. The bride entered the church on the arm of her brother, wearing a beautiful but simply made frock of needlerun lace over satin, fully trained and buttoned down the back with small satin buttons. The long sleeves were tight-fitting over the wrist and the bodice, with a V-shaped neckline shirred in the front and finished with a spring of orange "blossom. Her long embroidered tulle veil fell from a halo of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of white lilium auraturn and gladioli with asparagus fern. The bridesmaids. Miss Viola Langford, and Miss Connie Vautier, were frocked alike in pale amber and blue. They wore blue headbands with gold leaves and shoulder spray of blue, and carried sheaths of amber lilies tied with blue ribbon. Mr Keith Wil by was best man and Mr Horace Rush groomsman. The reception was held at Messrs Collinson and Cunninghame’s tearooms, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, assisted by the bridegroom’s parents. When Mr and Mrs R. L. A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Paul's Methodist Church, Broadway, Palmerston North, by Rev. Mr Ashcroft, on Saturday evening, February 26, the contracting parties being Claire Sophia, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. T. Jones, Rotokohu, Reefton, and Thomas Burns, younger son of Mrs and the late Mr T. L. Richards, of Grey Street, Palmerston North. The bride looked charming in a fulllength frock of powder blue georgette, with matching veil of stiffened tulle, worn over the face and held in place with a band of orange blossom. She wore white silk and lace gloves, and carried a bouquet of blue delphiniums and maidenhair fern. She was attended by Miss Betty Richards, sister of the bridegroom, who wore a pink georgette redingote frock over a floral slip. On her hair she wore a turban roll. While silk mittens and white sandal shoos completed a very sweet toilette. She carried a bouquet of pink floweps and maidenhair fern. Mr RoV Metcalfe, of New Plymouth, assisted the bridegroom as best man. A reception was held at the residence of the bridegroom’s mother, who wore a mauve ensemble. A most enjoyable time was spent by all. Mrs Jones assisted in receiving the guests, frocked in navy blue and white with navy’ accessories. She carried a bouquet, of scarlet and autumn leaves. Mr and Mrs T Richards left later by car on their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a midnight blue tailored suit, with hat and accessories to tone.
