RANGIOTU.

RANGIOTU, Feb. 25. The Mangowhata Dairy Companys factory, which was recently destroyed by fire is being rebuilt immediately, the contract for the main building having been let to Mr H. E. Townshend, of Palmerston North, while Mr H. E. Beard, of Rangiotu, was the successful tenderer for the men’s quarters. The work will be Completed in about four months. The monthly meeting of the local branch of the P.W.M.U. was held on Tuesday, Mrs Wilton presiding over a large attendance. A special welcome was extended to Rev. W. Martin, and Mrs and Miss Martin, Mr Martin having been recently appointed home missionary in the district. He gave a thoughtful address on “Prayer, ’ and was warmly thanked. Miss Rickaby read two missionary letters. It was decided to hold a garden party in aid of mission funds, Mrs H. Voss, of Tiakitahuna, offering the use of her grounds. A large committee was set up, headed by Mesdames Voss and Andrew. Afternoon tea, served by Mrs K. Wilton and Miss Rickaby, concluded the afternoon.

The friends of Mr and Mrs W. Prier will be pleased to hear that their son, Cliff, who had the misfortune to injure his neck while diving in the Oroua River recently, is now out of hospital, Mr and Mrs Mostyn Toogood are visitors to Wellington for the Robinson—Toogood wedding, which takes place to-day.
