CONFERENCE WITH PRESIDENT. WASHINGTON, Feb. 11. Unexpectedly comic results have arisen irom one aspect of the President’s much publicised conferences with business men. The Administration announced after the “big business” conference last month that a conference of 1000 small businessmen designed to help the man with a smaller annual turnover would be called. The first meeting combined, according to one observer, the “best elements of Kilkenny cats on a busy fence-top, a three-ring circus, and the storming of the Bastille.” On Oie question of selection of the' chairman, said to be a Government nominee, a wild riot occurred, and police were called in to restore order. The meeting broke up after doing nothing.
