MISS CURTIS FAREWELLED.

Mrs E. Fair and Mrs L. Carmine were hostesses at a very enjoyable sherry party given at Mrs Fair’s home last evening, the guest of honour being Miss G. Curtis, who is leaving for New Plymouth early next week to take up her new position. Mrs Fair received the guests. She chose for her frock a floral model in shades of navy, while Mrs Carmine wore black. Miss Curtis was very becomingly gowned in a Paisley tunic frock of blue, with touches of scarlet. With decorations of shaded zinnias and large corner bowls of brown and gold flowers, the large drawing-room looked most attractive. Savouries were served, and m a happy speech Mrs Fair expressed regret of Miss Curtis’s leaving, and wished her every happiness in her new sphere. Miss' Curtis was asked to accept, with the good wishes or her friends, a crystal decanter. For the gift and the many kindnesses she had received from her friends in Feilding Miss Curtis feelingly expressed thanks. Musical honours were accorded her and also the host--6S Those present were Mesdames Fair, Carmine, S. Cover, P. .C. Miles, C. Tate, E Pirani, J. Petrie, K. Little, A Hangar, Gunn (Gisborne), and Misses Curtis, B. Watkins (Palmerston North) V. McKenzie, It. Poynter and J. Crabb.
