NATIONAL MEETING.
MARKSMEN COMPETE. OPENING AT TRENTHAM. Per Press Association. TRENTHAM, Feb. 25. The annual meeting of the National Rifle Association opened at Trentham to-day. Although the morning was fine, threatening weather conditions prevailed. Before leaving the squadding posts for the firing points the competitors were welcomed by Colonel F. B. Creswell, who is deputising at the meeting for the president. Dr. A. F. R. Crawford (Invercargill). He extended a special welcome to the members of the South African team. Shooting- commenced with the opening match of ten rounds at 300, 500, and 600 yards.
