AVERAGES FOR SEASON. GALLICHAN HEADS BOWLERS. Now that the Plunket Shielcl matches for the 1937-38 cricket season have been completed the averages over the series have been compiled and show V. Scott (Auckland) as heading the batting with an average of 103.50. Whitelaw’s average after the Welling-ton-Auckland match dropped from 141 to 80.50 and Carson’s from 112 to 49.
N. Gallichan, the Manawatu representative in the Wellington side, heads the bowling list with Pritchard fourth. Gallichan secured 7 wickets for 76 runs at an average of 10.00 and Pritchard 15 wick_ets for 227 runs at an average of 15.13.
