A STRONGER DEFENCE.
URGED FOR DOMINION. Per' Press Association. AUCKLAND, Feb. 24. Far from preventing war, the League of Nations was showing tendeiiciev in the opposite direction, said Mr W. R. Fee, in his presidential address to the annual meeting of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce today. Though the League might be organised on a sounder basis in the future it was the present duty of New Zealand to follow the lead of Britain in preparing her own defence force to protect her snores. Chambers of Commerce were pleased the Government had undertaken this preparation in some measure and would stand behind any further move that would allay uneasiness as to the weakness of the Dominion’s defence.
