NEW GERMAN BOMB.
CAUSE OF HAVOC IN BARCELONA LONDON, Feb. 11. The appalling havoc done by the last air raid on Barcelona was due to a new German bomb: It was recently invented and lias a larger explosive range than any other of the same size and a- greater . destructive effect, according to French, experts. Instead of damaging one house, this bomb destroys several. A 6 supplies of it are very limited, the rebel bombers have now fallen back on the old types, which cause a far lower of casualties. It is expected, in view of the killing power of the new bomb, that further supplies will be made available to the rebels. The rebels think that if the bombings are horrible enough Catalan resistance may be broken down. The Catalans, so far, have been made only more war-conscious. Some of Franco's advisers declare that the use of a few experimental bombs was a mistake, and that if lie had waited and staged a great raid, killing 10,000, it would have been very effective.
