CITIES BOMBARDED
INSURGENT CRUISERS ATTACK. RETALIATION BY ’PLANES. SPANISH CIVIL STRIFE. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received February 24, 8.5 a.m. LONDON, Feb. 23. The insurgent cruisers, the Canarias, the Baleares and the Almirante Cervera, two auxiliaries, and three ’planes, in a combined attack to-day, extensively damaged Valencia and Sagunto. A Government gunboat replied from Valencia and ’planes from Sagunto, where 50 to 60 bombs and shells were dropped, shattering the forward funnel of the Almirante CerveraThe warships are reported to have lost formation.
