KAIRANGA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) ICAIRANGA. Feb. 22.
Mr I. Fra sor presided over tlio monthly meeting of the Kairanga Young- Farmers’ Club. There wifi a fair attendance. Two remits were parked for consideration at the annual meeting. In reply to a letter from the Munawtilii District Committee a number of suggestions wore prepared for the 1938 programme. The lecturer was Mr G. S. Robinson, of the Dcparlincut of Agriculture, who gave an address on “Dip* and Dippings.” The chairman proposed a vote of thanks to the speaker. The fortnightly euchre in aid of the jubilee funds was hold last evening. There was a large number present. Tho following were tlio winners: Ladies, Mrs E. Mallctt 1, Mrs L. Clarke 2, after playing off with Mrs J. Burmeister and Mrs A. Diveall; men, Mr.H. Green 1, Mr C. Blush 2. after playing off with Mr J. Holland.
The senior pupils of (he local school paid a visit to tho “Standard” Office to have u look over (lie building and see ihe printing press working. They were also shown the lintotypc department. The children showed much interest in what they saw.
