PAHIATUA.
, PAHIATUA, Feb. 23. In connection with the 50th anniversary celebrations of St. Peter’s Church a re-u nion was held last night. The function exceeded the greatest hopes of the organisers, being attended by a large and representative gathering embracing Church of England parishioners from far and near. Seating accommodation was overtaxed for the tea which had to be served in two sittings and it is estimated that no fewer than 220 persons were present The ladies’ sub-committee was convened by Mrs J D. C. , Crewe. Members of the Girls Club also assisted to wait at the tables. Among those present were Rev. C. M. Roberts (Methodist Church), Rev. A. A. Armstrong (Presbyterian) and Rev. Hugh Leach, a former vicar of St. Peter’s.
