Beef values firmed at late rates at Westfield to-day, lower grade stock being dearer. In many instances quality was good in the ox section, but again inferior and patchy among the cows. Restricted selection produced stronger competition. Extra choice ox realised 39s a lOOib, choice and prime, 33s to 38s; unfinished, 25s to 355; prime cow and heifer beef, 30s to 375; unfinished, 22s to 325.
