ADDINGTON SALE.

WETHERS ADVANCE. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Dee. 15. Entries at to-day’s weekly market at Addington wore larger than normal, the main increase being in the store sheep section. About 3000 wethers were forward from Marlborough and the Chatham Islands, and with the improved feed prospects and better tone of the wool market advanced by 2s a head. Best local wothers made to 25s sd, Pitt Island to 23s 9d, and a big pen of Marlborough to 18s. Fat lambs.—A small entry was insufficient for butchers’ needs and bit tellers dominated the market, prime lambs making from Bjd to 9d per lb. Fat sheep.—Exporters bought more freelv than usual, paying slightly more for light ewes, with wethers up to the best of last week’s rates. ' Heavy plain ewes were the only class to case getter ally. . The market was tip to Is 6d a head better. Ebst wether prices were 29s to 32s 4d, medium-weight prime 25s to 28s; best ewes to 295, good 24s to 265, freezing 16s to 17s. Fat cattle.—Prime medium and lightweights retained values, selling for thu best sorts at up to 40s a 1001 b. Heavy bodies were down by about 20s a head. Best steers sold from £ls to £l7, good £l2 10s to £l4 10s; extra special heifers and cows to £l3, good heifers £9 to £IG 10s; good cows £8 to £lO, light down to £4 10s.

Fat pigs.—The market cased still fuither, export buyers restricting their purchases. Porkers made from 29s 6d to 51s 6d, an average a pound of 6d to bpd. Bacon ers made 54s 6d to £4 15s 6d, an average a pound of 6d to 6|d. Sloro pigs: A keen sale. Wcaners brought 14s to 235; slips, 24s to 265; stores, 27s to 31s.
