FIRE BRIGADE ENTERTAINS
An apportunity to inspect the renovations carried out in their social room was given local members of the Feilding Fire Board on Monday evening by the Fire Brigade, when a social was held at the station. The entertainment comprised a snooker contest between members of the board and members of the brigade, and a carpet bowls contest. ' The snooker resulted in a draw, while at bowls the Fire Brigade were successful. At the conclusion of the matches, supper was served by the firemen. Mr 0. C. Sporle (superintendent) explained the improvements and said that they were much appreciated by the : men. Among those present were the Mayor ] (Mr T. Collins) and Messrs W. E. Cartliew, A. C. McCorkindale and E. Fair.
