INTER-CLUB MATCH

St. Brigid’s. Tennis Club played a match against St. John’s Club during the week-end on the former club’s courts. St. Brigid’s were the winners by 15 sets to 9 (124 games' to 104). In the following details St. John’s players are mentioned first: Men’s singles.—F. Groombridge lost to H. Dewe, J. Overend lost to H. Mayer, L. Lawrenson lost to W. Worsfold, C. Simms beat C. Cheetham, P. Wells beat L. Hall, C. Aitken lost to K. Julian. Women’s singles.—Miss M. Pearson lost to Miss N. Price, Miss F. Hayward beat Miss F. Price, Miss C. Carter lost to Miss K. Harrison, Miss B. Bridge lost to Miss B. Benge, Miss L. Geary lost to Mrs Mayer, Miss J. Benson beat Mrs Hall.

Men’s doubles.—Groombridge and Simms lost to Dewe and Mayer, Overend and Aitken beat Worsfold and Cheetham, Lawrenson and Wells beat Hall and Julian.
