CONVENT GARDEN PARTY.
The annual appeal made on behalf of the Sisters of Mercy to enable them to carry out their charitable works throughout the year will, as usual, take the form of a garden party, which is to be held in the Convent grounds in Fitcheit Street on Saturday,' both in the afternoon and evening. The official opening ceremony will be performed by the Alayor (Mr A. E. Mansford) and Air J Hodgens, M.P. The Mayor will also present the pupils with the prizes won during the year. The cause for which the apneal is being made is _ most worthy, and U is confidently anticipated that the public of Palmerston North will again give their usual generous support. .
