STATE HOUSES.
AUTHORITY FOR LOANS
The State Advances Corporation Amendment Bill, which was introduced and read the first time in the House of Representatives to-day, gives authority to make housing loans, and authorises local bodies to invest sinking funds with the corporation; removes the income limit governing the amount of loans for housing; and gives the Minister of Finance authority to fix the rents of State houses.
