JUNIOR PLAYERS SURPRISE. • Received December 7. 11.20 a.m. V MELBOURNE, Dec. 7. Tlie second round of the Victorian tennis championships has produced some surprises. The doubles titleholders, A. K. Quist and D. P. Turnbull. were defeated by the juniors, Gilchrist and Linde, in five sets. In the women’s singles Aliss . Stevenson defeated the American, Miss O. Workman, with the loss of only two games. Mises Workman and Bundy were defeated in the women’s doubles by Misses Stevenson and Blick. Budge and Mako (American) and the leading Australians won their singles matches comfortably.
