MARKET REPORT.
PIGS, POULTRY AND PRODUCE. The Dominion Auctioneering Co., Palmerston North, report receiving large entries of both pigs and poultry at their weekly fair, held on Thursday: —Weanor pigs are still in demand, best sorts realising from 20s to 25s 6d. Some nice lines of poultry were keenly sought after, with prime young cockerels m particular commanding keon competition. Vegetables again wore in heavy supply. We quote .as follows: — Pigs.—Small weaners,. I6s to 20s; best weaners, to 25s 6d; slips, to 28s; stores, to 355; porkers, from 40s to 50s; baconers, up to 695; pedigree sow, sgns. Poultry.—Best young cockerels, from 5s 2d to 6s 2d per pair; younger cockerels, from 2s to 5s per pair; roosters, from 5s to 7s per pair; 8.0. hens, from 6s to 7s per pair; light hens, from 5s to 6s per pair; ducks, heavy, 8s per pair; light ducks, from 3s 2d to 5s 6d per pair; duck with ducklings, from 10s 6cl to 12s each. Fruit.—Hothouse tomatoes, from Is to Is 4d por lb. Pears: Winter Coles, from 11s to 12s 6d por 3 bushel, Winter Nelis, from 8s 6d to 10s 3d per 5 bushel; cook ing pears, from 5s to 9s 6d per 3 bushel. Apples: Delicious, from 8s 6d to 10s per bushel; Tasma’s, from 9s 6d to 10s 6d per bushel. Grapefruit, from 4s to 8s por bushel; lemons, from 5s to 9s per bushel; strawberries, from Is 5d to 2s 2d per punnet; cherries, 12s to 13s per s. case; carrots, from 2s to 6s per dor.cn bunches; cabbage, from 2s to 2s 6d per case; cauliflowers, from Is to 7s 6d per 6ack; new potatoes, from 20s to 21s per cwt; rhubarb, from 2s 6d to 3s 6d por dozen; asparagus, from 8s to Is per bundle; spring onions, from 9d to Is 2d per bunch; hothouse beans, from Is 2d per lb; gooseberries, from 6s to 6s 6d per case; turnips, from 2s to 6s per do2en; green peas, from l|d to 3d per lb.
