NEW YARD FACILITIES.
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT. Work on the extension of building and yard for the Public Works Department at Palmerston North is now well advanced, and most of the activities are taking place on the former education reserve fronting Cuba and Main Streets.
This is being, subdivided by a road, and a new railway siding has been laid. A large building for the storage of plant is well on the way to completion, as also is a permanent building to be used as a workshop and garage. Loading banks, oil stores, and polestacking sites are included in the general developmental work on the area.
