MILSON AERODROME
DRAINAGE SYSTEM. RESULTS VERY SATISFACTORY. Work on the improvements undertaken by the Public Works Department at the Milson aerodrome is now nearing an end, after having been in progress for two years and three months. It marks the completion of a drainage system of some magnitude, and one of the most extensive of its kind undertaken. There are over 50,000 ft of pipes laid, varying in size from 12in to 3in diameter, in addition to over 100 miles of mole drains. They discharge into the boundary drains or adjacent gullies.
Highly satisfactory results have attends! the drainage work. Formerly it was necessary to walk in gum-boots on a slushy surface, but tests made the other day revealed that it was dry down to a depth of two feet.
