ADDINGTON SALE. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 24. Sm&ll entries of fat stock at to-day’s Addington market met with an improved sale, particularly for rot sheep and to a lesser extent for fat cattle and fat lambs. Freezing works commenced operations this week and export buyers were in the market. Prices, however, were in advance of their rates, making from 9|d to 9|d. Store sheep had a much freer sale, with a slight advance in prices for ewes and lambs. These were better class and sold for twoloolhs at up to 255. Wethers were weak at from 17s to 19s. Fat sheep.—A small penning of 375*' met with a complete recovery in wether values of 2s a head and of ewes about 2s 6d. Best wethers made to 34s lOd, good 28s to 325, ordinary 23s to 265; best ewes up to 30s, good 24s to 275, average 18s to 21s. light down to 16s. Fat cattle.—Last week’s drop of 20s a head was recovered. Medium sorts showed a little improvement, but old cows were a shade weaker. Best young beef in a few : instances made to 40s a 1001 b, good 36s to 38s, rough down to 265. Top price for steers was £l7 17s 6d, numerous pens selling at £l4 10s to £l6 10., with inferiol down to £lO. Vealcrs soid at slightly lower rates and store cattle also eased on last week’s. There was an improved market for fat pigs. With the heavy entry and with the export price easing slightly there was a weaker sale for porkers, which were down by 2s to 3s a head. Baconcrs were slightly easier. Porkers made from 32s 6d to 56s 6d. The average price a lb was 6jd to 7id. Baconers made £3 9s 6d to £4 4s 6d, an average a head of 6jd to 7d.

STORTFORD LODGE. HASTINGS, Nov. 24. There were average to moderate entries in all classes of live stock at the Stortford Lodge sale to-day. The fat cattle entry was only moderate, cowg and heifers piedominating. Prices were on a par with last week for the best lines, but plain sorts dragged. Despite good rain which fell throughout the sale, store cattle mot with a lifeless market. There was a moderate entry of fat sheep; prices showed a decline compared with last week and values closed just above freezing rates Store sheep also showed a decline, several lots being passed. Store sheep.—A line of 51 Down-cross two-tooth ewes, 22s 4d; 224 two-tooth ewevs, well grown and shorn, 32s 9d; 105 two-tooth wethers, fairly grown and shorn, 23s 4d; 300 shorn two-tooth wethers, similar order to previous pen, passed at 22s 6d and 22s 7d in two pons; 148 shorn twotooth ewes, 345.

Lighter entries of ox beef after the decline in values quoted last week resulted in a firmer tendency in this section of the Westfield market to-day. Cow supplies were ample and rates were only firm.
