(From Our Own Correspondent.) RONGOTEA, Nov. 22.
The Methodist Sunday school anniversary celebrations Were continued on Monday evening, when tho children delighted a large audience' with their songs, recitations, etc., following which gift books wore distributed to each child. Special prizes Were awarded to Daisy Arinitago for attendance and to Olive Voss for Scripture memorising. The annual report was presented by the secretary, * Miss Ethna Hill, and stating that the year had proved unusually successful, despite the lateness of reopening owing to the epidemic, as "a result of which the Christmas tree and picnic had to be abandoned also. In June a specially attractive tea and social evening were enjoyed by scholars and teachers; presentations Were made to three teachers who had since been married, Mr and Mrs R. 0. Gloyn, and Mrs A. Pedley. The position of organist vacated by Mrs Pedloy, had since been most efficiently filled by Miss D. Kempthorne. Miss M. Huddleston had. been appointed a teacher from tho beginning oi the year. A few weeks ago a change was made from holding Sunday school in the afternoon to a combined church-school held in conjunction with.the morning service. Thanks were due to • all who had rendered assistance. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £7 15s 2d. The following contributed to the programme: Recitations, Valda Hogg, Phyllis Claasen, Lorna Dafter, Daisy Armitago, Fay Larsen, lan Hunt, Stanley Armitage, Flank Hamlih, Tracy Larsen; songs, Lewis Hunt and Trevor Hogg; duet, Hazel Collis and Rita Sanson.
