TIAKITAHUNA INSTITUTE.
There was a large attendance at the monthly meeting of the Tiakitahuna' Institute. The president, Mrs D. Rowland, welcomed a. number of visitors from Longburn. Arrangeents wero made for a children’s party to be held in December. It was proposed that the committee make final arrangements. A talk on homonursing was given by Mrs Barnicoat, of FcUding, and was uch appreciated. Mrs Short, also of Fcilding, demonstrated home-made Christmas noveltiets and displayed some daity work. ’The competition was for the best frock worn by the maker, and a dozen members lined up to bo judged by Mesdames Barnicoat and short. The winners were Mrs H. McEwen 1, Mrs C. Croucher 2, and Miss E. M. McEwen 3. An, amusing competiiton was won by Mrs James. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames J. Hearsay and D. Eraser.
