PAHIATUA.
PAHIATUA, Nov. 24. Mr W. L. Blennerhasset, of Pahiatua,, leaves to-morrow to take up a position at Te Puke, Bay of Plenty, Mrs E. Soandrett has been obliged to enter a private hospital. A project, the holding up of which may be attributed to the inclement weather experienced of late, is that of the tar-sealing operations on the main highway between Hamua and Newman. Last week only one day was worked, and when a fresh start was made yesterday work had to cease in the afternoon owing to wet weather. On the Pahiatua side of, Eketabun.a, workmen are busy making a cut under the main railway line. Grey sandstone is being cut and carted across the present road to form a new road, which will be linked later on by a new bridge. When completed the road will replace the present horse-shoe bend and bridge.
