About 450 delegates from all parts of the Dominion were present to-day. at the opening of the annual Communication of the Masonic Grand Lodge of New Zealand. Consideration of annual reports of Masonic boards and of remits dealing with the administration of the craft formed the business of the morning session. Grand Lodge then adjourned until the evening, when, at a gathering of over 2000 in the Town Hall, in the spectacular and colourful ceremonies peculiar to the craft, the Grand Master was reinstalled ai.,l 'other officers for the year were invested. Colonel J. J. Esson presided as installing Grand Master, and other parts of the investiture ceremonies were carried out by Sir Stephen Allen (Morrinsville), Messrs G. Barclay (Dunedin), H. G. Teagle and G- Russell (Wellington), S. C. Bingham (Christchurch), and M. Thompson and W. R. T. Leighton (Auckland). After his installation, the Grand Master addressed the gathering on Masonic topics.
