(From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI, Nov. 22. At the euchre evening at Raukawa on Friday Mrs Baker and Mr A. Bishop won tho fii’st prizes and Mrs Gilbert and Mr K. Ilakaraia the second prizes. The competition "was won by Miss llori to Waru. The Bliop day in connection with the Methodist Church proved very successful, and tho ladies in charge, headed by Mrs Nelson, did splendidly. Mr Gong Sou, who was recently injured on tho street, is still a patient at the Palmerston North Hospital, suffering from a fractured leg. Pennant bowling matches were played on Saturday at Plimmorton between Otaki and tho home rinks. Otaki won both games. Kihnistcr, Pike, Gillispie, Watford (skip) 27, beat Wiles, Triss, Burnham, Pickering -(skip), 'l3: Nairn, Nicolson, Young, Grey (skip) 23, beat France, Dallaston, Cathie, Keats (skip) 20. Two rinks from the Otaki club visited Porirua on Sunday to play for tho Mexted Cup. Cupewcll, Brown, Eaton, Grey (skip) won 21 —18, while Weenink, Watford, McGill, Scott (skip) suffered defeat by five points. Sixteen rinks participated in the gala day held by the Otaki Railway club. . Rinks were present from Wellington (3), Seatoun (2), Petono (2), Takaro, Levin, Foxton, Lyall Bay, Lower Hutt, Island Bay and Otaki Railway (3). The semi-finals were played between Childs (Levin) and Nissen (Petonc), the latter winning, and between Child (Takaro) and Newson (Wellington), the latter winning. In tho playoff: Newson boat Nissen. Word has been received that tho Otaki Railway club is now part of tho Wellington Centre.
