A SPEEDY JUVENILE. NEW ASPIRANT APPEARS. BRIGHT WINGS’S DOUBLE. (By “Spectator.”) Bright Wings, who showed brilliant spoed in winning both tho Tamahere and ( Raukura Stakes at To Rapa, is bred to gallop fast, being by Vaals from the speedy White Wings. She was green when she ran unplaced in the Musket Stakes at Ellcrslio and has improved greatly since. White AVings is a sister to Agrion and Waikaro, being by Limond from Waterwings, by Absurd from Sea Elf, by Seaton Dclavai. Sea Elf was sister to Mermin, one of the best juveniles that over raced here. Vaals allied with this family should produce great speed, for Vaals himself was a first-class speedster and in recent years Valais blood has dominated tho best- class of event on tho turf in Australia. Otaki Races. Cyclopean is included in the nominations for the Puketoi Hack Hurdles at the Otaki Maori Racing Club’s summer meeting. Next At Manawatu. Brown Oak, the Lackham golding who showed promising form and was twice placed at Sydney in tho early spring, will race at the Manawatu meeting at Christmas. She has returned to work in fine order after a two months’/spell, and has only been lightly raced. Clessamor For Feilding. There has been nothing outstanding about Clcssamor’s recent track work _at New Plymouth, although ho is working freely and bears a healthy appearance. Ho should be capable of a good effort in the open six-furlong event at b eliding, where he will be ridden by L. Clifford. iTacecall Galloping Well. Raeccall was allowed to drop out of his To Rapa engagement, but there is nothing amiss with him. Ho is bearing _an improved appearance and was responsible for a great gallop over half a 'mile recently. He will bo seen out in the hack sprint at Feilding. Wagner Has Stamina. Wagner, who runs on well at the end of his races, is at present a fit horse, and the winner of the Mako Mako Hack Handicap at Levin promises to reproduce some of his early brilliance. Ho may do bis holiday racing at Auckland, and should show up over a distance. Jeanne Not Starting. The two-year-old Joanne, who was successful at the recent Waipawa meeting, is suffering from a cold and will not be able to fulfil her Feilding engagements. Joanne, who is trained by J. Sullivan for Mr A. W. Akers, of Palmerston North, is regarded as being a very promising filly. Sho is a daughter of Lackham. Lady Meath’s Promise. Lady Moath, tho Irish-bred maro who was having her first start since being injured at Paoroa last season, ran a splendid race into second place in the Trial Stakes on the first day at To Rapa, and was again second on Monday. She should not bo long in getting on the winning list. His Second Wirt. Mea jVlea, who annexed tho Weraroa Hack Handicap, at Levin, had won only once previously, but bo has not bad a great deal of racing and resumed only recently after a spell. He is a good-looking four-year-old chestnut _ gelding by _ Lackham from tho Arausio —Te Aupaki maro Hinc Wehi, a half-sister to Toxeuma and is tho first offspring of his dam.

Levin Maiden Winner. Conversion, who accounted for the maiden field at Levin, is owned by Mr H. F. Wood, of Wellington, formerly one of the part-owners of Autopay, who bred him.
