ANGLICAN CHURCH. (From Our Own Correspondent.) APITI-, Nov. 24. One of the most successful events organised by the members of the Anglican Church Guild, was the annual garden party, held yesterday afternoon.' Mr and Mrs W. H. Watson had given the use of their lovely garden and home for the function, and miniature golf in charge of Mr Watson was enjoyed by a large crowd. The sweet stall was in charge of Mrs A. R.' McNae and the sewing was sold by Mrs A. E. Prujean. Competition stewards were Mrs V. J. Viles, and Misses Stanley and B. Vearney. Afternoon tea, which had been generously provided by the ladies of the Anglican Church, was served bv Mesdames S. 11. White, W. 11. Watson and J. 11. Cowan and many willing helpers. Winners of the competitions were: Shoulder spray, Miss J. White; buttonhole, floral, Miss M. Prujean ; plain scones, Mrs Nix; butter sponge, Miss B. Kearney; quoits, Miss B. Kearney and Mr Munro; taipo bowls, Mrs N. K. Gould and Mr Fleuvy; miniature golf, Mrs A. W. Bird and Mr S. H. White. A beautifully decorated cake made and donated by Mrs F. Munro was tied for by Mrs Len Martin, Miss Craddock and Miss S. Prujean who guessed within half an ounce of the correct weight. In the final draw Miss Prujean won; the correct weight was 51b 13ioz. Rev. F. E. Floury thanked all for tlieii support and particularly Mr and Mrs Watson for their kindness in lending their home and grounds. He thanked also the ladies of the Guild who had worked so willingly for the success of the function. The prizes were then presented. It was a beautiful day, which contributed largely to the success of the day’s effort. Mesdames F. E. Fieury and Barmcoat, of Kimbolton, judged the competitions. PERSONAL. Miss Craddock, whose homo is in Australia, is the guest of hei sister, Mrs J. Mapson.
