AFTERNOON PROGRAAIAIE. Several spectacular features were associated with the afternoon programme. The massed Swedish drill performed by 49 lines of boys and girls alternating, formed between the two stands, 25 children to each line, proved very effective when the movements were carried out to the music from the loud-speaker system and the timing of seven leaders standing on tables in front. The girls were dressed in white and the boys in black-shorts and white shirts. The drill was carried forward with fine precision, considering the age / of the performers, and reflected credit on the instructor, Aliss I. AV. Stuart. Children from the city schools formed the lettering “P.N. 1877-1937” on the oval, and the finals of the events staged in the morning were then run off. besides which there were several other events, of an inter-school nature. The results of the competitions in the afternoon were: Leap frog final, Stds. 3 and 4. boys. —I. Robertson, D. Feasey and K. Turnbull 1, J. Foster, K. Carr and V. Belgrave 2, C. Osten, J.
