WELCOME HOME PARTY.
MRS A. HOPWOOD. At a cheery welcome home party to Mrs A. II op wood, which was held at the Rosco tearooms, Mesdames C. L. Mowlem and E. W. Sinclair were joint hostesses. The tables, which were decorated with vases of pink and blue sweet peas and tall lupins of the same shades, were further ornamented with place cards, which were retained by many guests as souvenirs. The guest of honour was extended a welcome by Mrs Simmons on behalf of those present. After touching on the lighter side of her Eastern trip, with graphic descriptions of national costumes, customs and dress, „ Mrs Hopwood spoke feelingly of the many sad scenes witnessed at Shanghai -with the departure of refugees. At the conclusion of her interesting talk, Mrs Hopwood was thanked by Mrs Mowlem. Those present were: Miss Hopwood and Mesdames R. Hopwood, A. Hadfield, W. Mouldey, F. Martin. C. Nielsen, F. G. Major, G. Stout, M. Aitchison, HI Williams, A. Worboys. Bowler, Watson, J. Watchorn, W. E. Winks. W. Spring, Allen, W. Rutherfurd, Renton. Clulow, Stonex, J. Allen and R. A. Fuller. .
