UNUSUAL CASE.
j>or Assnoiation. INVERCARGILL, Sept. 10. In the Magistrate’s Court. before Mr AV. H. Freeman. S.M., to-day, Roy Champion Kean, Inspector of Civil Aviation, proceeded against Arthur John Bradshaw on four charges: First, that on December 30. at Invercargill, he failed to satisfy himself before commencing a flight that the aircraft was satisfactorily loaded for the flight; secondly, that the conditions governing the certificate of airworthiness for the D.H. Fox Moth aeroplane i.„,i i,p Prl complied with; thirdly, that he flew an aeroplane in which the total weight exceeded the 21161 b. laid down in the certificate of airworthiness ; and. fourthly, that lie used an unlicensed landing place. Bic* Bay, while carrying passengers for hire. Defendant pleaded not guilty to all four charges. Mr Ivean also proceeded against the Southland Aero Club, as owner of a ’plane involved, for failure to notify an accident by telegram to the Controller of Civil Aviation as soon as possible.
Evidence was heard from Mr Kean and John Smith, a pilot of the local Aero Club, and the Court then adjourned for lunch.
