TAKARO BOWLING CLUB.
COMPETITIONS FOR SEASON. . There was a good attendance of members at the annual meeting of the bowling section of the Tnkaro Bowling, Tennis and Croquet Club, held in the club's pavilion last evening. Mr H. Bovis (section president) was in the chair.
The election of office-bearers for the ensuing term resulted:—President, Mr H. Bovis; secretary, Mr G. H. Jar ret 1, , delegates to Bowling Centre, Messrn A. Cookslev and A. Just; handicappers, Messrs A. Oooksley, J. Child and F. Hearsey; selectors, Messrs Cooksley, Bovis and Child: official coaches, Messrs Child and Hearsey; committee, Messrs D. Bell. F. Rosvall, E. Fisher, Shelley, H. Titshall, J. Wass, R. Stewart, F. Hearsey, H. Wagstaff and L. M. Abraham; delegates to Talrart* executive, Messrs Abraham, Bovis and G. Farrar; competitions committee, Messrs Bovis, Child and Cooksley; classification committee, the selectors.
It was decided to invite one rink from each club in the centre to the club’s opening on October 16. It was resolved to hold a progressive pairs tournament on Labour Day. This season the club will hold two championships, for A and B classes. The A class will be for those with lian_; dicaps up to 5, and the B class will be for players with handicaps of 6 or over. The competitions for the year will be: Championship singles (two-life) championship pairs (twolife), and handicap singles (one-life). It was decided that p “threes” competition he held for the Abraham Cup. It wa s resolved to make a recommendation to the Manawatn Bowling Centre to inaugurate a junior competition.
