EXTRACT’S FROM “STANDARD." AUGUST 30, 1907. A paragraph stated: “I he directors of the recently formed co-operative dairy company in the Kairanga expect to be able to' come to a decision this week with regard to the erection of the factory at Longhorn and the provision of the nccossarv plant. It is hoped to commenco but-ter-making at the factory in a couplo of months’ time. Mining experts from the Otago gold dredging district were leaving for positions with companies in South America, where new gold-bearing areas were being opened up. There being a penalty, for insanitary dairying but no reward for excellence, a conference of stock inspectors at Wellington bad proposed to reward good fanners with certificates and trophies Mr .1. A. I-Cipsclla, the Former Dairy Commissioner in New Zealand, had taken up a post as dairy expert to the West Australian Department of Agriculture. Representations had been made that the Square in Palmerston North bo subdivided and sold.
